I’ve been on a spiritual path since 1970. Since then, I’ve travelled to four continents, sharing sacred ancient teachings through the use of various modern day releasing techniques and power therapies. When I moved to Amherst in 2001 and bought our beautiful Victorian home, it was to open an international school where people from all over the world could come for my classes and discover pretty Amherst. Things turned out differently. Instead of coming here, people invited me to other countries to share my teachings.

In May 2009, I opened “The Centre for Home Therapies” with my new business partner, Kim Ripley. We are at 111 Church Street where I teach weekend workshops on releasing methods. We are also a showroom for demonstrating the inspired medical devices we now use and sell.

I am currently living my dream. When asked ‘how are you today?’ I can not help but answer, ‘I’m living my dream’.
My dream is not to be rich and famous, my dream is to help others live a vibrant life! Whether that is a life free from physical pain, mental anguish or spiritual fatigue, I just want to help people help themselves.
I come from a background as a Chiropractic Assistant,  an Operator of a Health Food Center and an Energy Therapist. I have training in EFT, EMF Balancing, Lester Levenson teachings and Reiki but I believe I am most certified as a student. I love to learn and continue to learn and study daily, both from the school of ‘hard knocks’, as well as from numerous courses and programs taught to me by my mentor Louise.

My name is Laurie-Ann White. Recently retired from the Canadian Armed Forces as a professional photographer, in May 2008, I became a massage therapist in Alberta. I attended schooling for the massage therapy in Edmonton, AB at the MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy. This helped put me on my path to start helping the healing of others. I really enjoy being able to help guide people to wellness, through massage and newly learned Reconnective Healing and the Reconnection. I have always been naturally curious about the mystery’s of life and have been a lifelong searcher. I discovered the Inner Peace Movement of Canada when I was young and found that it helped me understand that I was my own biggest mystery and that self-understanding was the key to my happiness. It has been said that when the student is ready, the teacher appears and that has been true in my spiritual journey. I started passing on what I had gained from the IPM programs that I attended to others right away and found that I learned even more when I shared what I was learning.
In the lectures, workshops, group work sessions and private consultations that I offer I pass along the same spiritual tools and techniques that I use in my own life to help myself. The programs are designed to move at the pace and level that each person is ready for so that understanding and healing can take place organically.

I have always had a great trust in my dreams and have received answers, comfort and a sense of belonging from them. This was the inspiration for my study and workbook “Dreaming with Angels” . It is designed to take a person through the steps of remembering dreams, interpreting symbols and understand the hidden meaning of our dreams from a spiritual perspective. This is a tool that I offer that is not associated directly with the Inner Peace Movement of Canada programs but came out of that experience.

What does Sisu Roots mean? Well, it is a magical Finnish word, used by many generations in Finland, meaning determination, strength, fervor, passion and zeal. The Roots identifies my maternal family, as they came across the pond to this continent in 1904.  At Sisu Roots I create local seasonal photo cards. I’m now incorporating treeless paper (bamboo and sugar cane), into my cardstock. I also travel the farmer’s market circuit selling my bags of granola and granola bars, both baked in my wood fired oven. Sisu Roots is working on a new product, now offering hand poured beeswax candles- tea lights and votives.

Sisu Roots will also be selling local nut butter products (peanut, almond, cashew and tahini), organic or natural, produced in our NS Valley by Yum

.Wysmykal Farm is a small farm owned and operated by Charles Ryan and Jessy Wysmyk. We grow a variety of tasty vegetables, and have a small hop yard. We are committed to using sustainable growing practices and are currently in our pre-certification year with Atlantic Certified Organic.

Our vegetables will be available seasonally at the Amherst, Pugwash, and Sackville farmer’s markets, as well as at our farm stand on our property, located at 1121 Chapman Settlement Road.

Mother and daughter fibre artists will be displaying their hand hooked rugs and quilts. They are from the Amherst area and have been working with fibre for over 10 years. A variety of pieces will be available including coasters, chair pads and wall hangings. Prices range from $27 – $1,300. All pieces have been made using at least 90% recycled materials.
